#1: Pay attention to your thermostat’s batteries! Did you know that many thermostat issues are simply caused by low or dead batteries? Regularly check your thermostat’s battery status to ensure uninterrupted functionality. Some thermostats display a low battery warning, while others may stop working suddenly. Keep spare batteries handy and replace them promptly to avoid any discomfort during extreme temperatures. Remember, a well-maintained thermostat is key to a comfortable and energy-efficient home.

#2: Have a professional calibrate the gas valve pressure on your heating system. On LP systems, ones that heat using liquified petroleum, the water column should be set to 6. If the pressure is too high, the system will overfire upon startup. When this happens, the chamber will be too hot, the heat exchanger will overheat and the system will not be safe to operate.

#3: Keep your AC and heating units running smoothly all year with annual tune-ups! Increased reliability, a longer lifespan and efficient operation under any temperatures are just some of the real benefits that maintenance offer your system.
